CAVES CODORNIU

Founded in 1551, Codorníu is recognized as Spain’s oldest cava producer and one of the pioneers of sparkling wine. With more than 450 years of history, the winery played a key role in 1872, when Josep Raventós crafted the first cava in Spain using the traditional method.

The iconic Modernist cellars in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia — designed by renowned architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch — were declared a National Historic Monument in 1976. Today, Codorníu remains an emblem of the Penedès wine region, combining heritage with ongoing research and innovation.

Known for its commitment to quality and sustainability, Codorníu produces a wide range of cavas, from classic blends to innovative creations such as Anna de Codorníu, the first cava made from Chardonnay grapes. The winery welcomes visitors to explore its cellars, taste its wines, and experience first-hand a tradition that has shaped the history of cava.
