Lidia Rudnicka

Professor Lidia Rudnicka is president of the International Trichoscopy Society and president of the Polish Dermatological Society. Member of the Board of Representatives of the EADV. Lidia Rudnicka is a dermatologist, head of the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. She studied at the Universities of Bonn (Germany) and Cologne (Germany) and at the Medical Academy in Warsaw (Poland). She completed post-graduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics. She was a scholarship holder of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda (USA), Universitaire de Liège (Belgium) and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia (USA). Her scientific achievements consist of over 200 publications. The main scientific achievement with prof. Rudnicka is her contribution to development of trichoscopy for diagnosis hair and scalp disorders. She coined the term "trichoscopy", co-edited with Malgorzata Olszewska and Adriana Rakowska "The Atlas of Trichoscopy" and organized the First World Congress of Trichoscopy in Warsaw, Poland. She is deputy editor-in-chief of the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. Her clinical interests focus mainly on modern methods of non-invasive skin imaging and on autoimmune skin diseases such as systemic sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, alopecia areata and psoriasis. She organizes and actively participates in the promotion of skin cancer prevention. She was invited speaker at many conferences in over 30 countries around the world, including the consecutive conference editions of the European Hair Research Society, American Academy of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and World Congress of Dermatology.
